Personal Description: I am originally from India but have been living in the UK for 7 years now. I am an English and Maths topper from my school in India and have a BSc and an MSc in Economics and Maths from Universities of Essex and Bath. I finished my studies at University with a 2.1 and until recently worked with a leading City Chartered Accountancy firm. I am now in the middle of changing employers and would like to make productive use of this interim period.

Teaching Experience: I enjoy teaching very much and have extensive experience of teaching Maths and English upto GCSE level in India as well as in the UK. I have taught the EdExcel syllabus extensively in the UK and am very familiar with the entire structure as well.

But in my free time I enjoy writing very much. Aside from winning the United Nations All India Essay writing and debate competition, I was also the co-editor of my school and University publications. I also maintain my own blog where I write from time to time about various topics. These are mostly political and social.

Teaching Approach: A combined strategy of teaching of language, improving vocabulary and encouraging creativity does wonders. I almost always ask my students to read certain pieces or articles or books. I ask them to write a precis in their own words and in this way, students make small beginnings. Gradually they move on complex topics.
